POOR THING (2023) by Yórgos Lánthimos is an oversaturated visual feast of a silly propaganda movie by a thinking director from Europe, in which he manages to strip naked the prudish Emma Stone, strip Willem Defoe of his life-long shoot-me-in-the-face over-the-top mannerisms, and strip search and finally find a semblance of an actor in Mark Ruffalo.
