Bradley Cooper’s MAESTRO (2023) – or what should’ve been called “The Battle of Narcissists” – offers little Vision, no Thought, no Un Certain Regard, and undisciplined, slapdash effort of a script comprised of a randomly placed sprinkle of narrative dots connecting into a sophomore big-scale narcissistic vehicle for its chief conductor. — Beautifully shot Old Hollywood exercise of style, its chief conductor, playing the role of a stylist rather than a Director. — Everyone’s life is about SOMETHING. What was Bernstein’s life about? Or more precisely, what was Bernstein’s life about according to Mr. Cooper? We won’t know. At least not from MAESTRO. — MAESTRO is an endeavor whose intent remains quite mysterious if not to say dubious…
